We eventually made friends with an American co-teacher. We refer to him as Dan.
Dan came in one day and said 'We should buy boats and go on the river'
10 minutes later we were in a big supermarket and we bought 4 boats. (Dan/Stephen/Andrew/Korean friend Adam)
This is what the boat looked like in the box.
We had to buy the display model, this shop had obviously not prepared to sell more than 1 boat at a time.
Then we sat in the middle of the floor of the supermarket and put our oars together, as you do.

Sometimes the fish would try to jump in our boats...
We were traveling with the current and all of a sudden this thing with bumpy skin is blatantly making it's way towards us. We all tried to get out of the way but it ended up going under Adam's boat and dragging him back around 5 meters before he got free. Scared the shit outta everybody. Then we float along and see about 50 of the things coming towards us.
Then after much panic we noticed that they were not alligators with dark bumpy skin but rocks jutting out of the river. We also realized that they weren't coming towards us, we were going towards them.
Anyone could have made that mistake.
It wasn't just a rock it was a rock monster.
